The ATC (artist trading card) exchange

examples of ATC's from one of our artist

Christmas theme exchange 2009

The members of the IA Guild are excited to be participating in an ATC exchange on an ongoing basis. Our next exchange is in January. ATCs or artist trading cards are becoming more and more popular. The concept is for artist to come together and trade cards with other artists and discuss their ideas and techniques with the other artist they are trading with. The only rules for ATCs are to create a piece of art on a sturdy paper which is 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches, and they are for trade only, and can not be sold. On the back the artist puts their name, contact details, title, number if it's a limited edition, and the date it was created. Cards which are created for sale are called ACEO (short for Art Cards, Editions and Originals).

The ATC concept falls directly in line with our main goal, to inspire each other by sharing ideas and techniques. Our exchange has all our artist and our artist friends creating 10 pieces of original art and in exchange will get 10 cards from the other artists participating.

We will certainly post some of the ATC's our guild members come up within the future. Perhaps you would like to join our guild and participate in one of the exchanges? If so contact the Brandon @ brandonchrisjohn@gmail.com or Jessica @ jwyant89@yahoo.com
